The Starter Labs high school business pitch competition is open to all Kentucky high school students living in the 606 area code.

STARTER LABS is a collaborative effort to engage students in leadership and entrepreneurial experiences and help them connect with business leaders and mentors. The goal is to ignite the entrepreneurial mindset and encourage more students to apply to the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs.
The selection committee will choose up to 20 business idea pitches to be streamed on December 13 at 7pm when the winners will be announced. Prize money will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and evenly among team members. Every school that submits an application will have at least one team win $50.

To enter the competition, a high school team or individual must complete a short online application and submit a 60 second video of their business pitch idea by December 7. Business pitch ideas will be evaluated on presentation and style, problem and solution, customer identification, and pathway to market.
