The Region 2 Arts Council Young Artist Grant program is for 8th-12th grade students who have a strong interest in the arts and reside in Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods or Mahnomen counties. Students who are singers, musicians, writers, media artists, performers, visual artists and craftspeople are welcome to apply!

Funding Information
- Grant recipients are reimbursed up to $600 for costs associated with arts instruction/mentorship, arts classes/camps/workshops in the state of Minnesota, and some related travel expenses or materials. Read below for details regarding the reimbursement process.
- Student recipients are awarded funds through reimbursement and have one year within which to use the funds. Mentoring, lessons, arts experiences and related expenses will be paid by the student/family in advance. Over the course of 12 months, students/families may submit up to 4 receipts or invoices to Region 2 Arts Council to receive reimbursement for up to $600 of their arts experience. As part of the maximum $600 grant award, students may ask for reimbursement up to $100 for travel expenses, including mileage at current IRS rate, lodging, and/or meals, and may ask for reimbursement up to $50 for arts materials such as reeds, sheet music, paints, brushes, etc.
