Nominations are encouraged across areas essential to quality of life, including arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services.
The Jenco Foundation Fund was established at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) to recognize citizens of Appalachian Ohio who demonstrate visionary leadership in serving others throughout the region.
The Jenco Foundation Fund intends to make one or more cash awards to individuals in Appalachian Ohio who have performed noteworthy community service above and beyond their everyday work and/or job responsibilities. The award is open to people of all ages serving their communities.
Jenco Awardees serve their communities across many different areas, including arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. What they all have in common is that their commitment to the individuals of Appalachian Ohio is not a job. It is a passion.

- As a regional community foundation, the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio’s community is the 32 Appalachian counties of Ohio.
- Adams; Ashtabula; Athens; Belmont; Brown; Carroll; Clermont; Columbiana; Coshocton; Gallia; Guernsey; Harrison; Highland; Hocking; Holmes; Jackson; Jefferson; Lawrence; Mahoning; Meigs; Monroe; Morgan; Muskingum; Noble; Perry; Pike; Ross; Scioto; Trumbull; Tuscarawas; Vinton; and Washington.
Please note that the award is for individuals, and as such, organizations are not eligible for the award. Organizations are, however, very welcome to make nominations.
