The goal of this program is to promote neighborhood stability and preserve the existing supply of single-family homes by assisting workforce housing households with repairs to their homes.
Eligible Repairs
- Energy efficiency improvements (replacement windows and doors)
- System upgrades (i.e. plumbing, electrical and HVAC)
- Roof repair and/or replacement and gutters
- Water heater replacement
- Lead, mold, and asbestos abatement/remediation
- Accessibility features for entering and existing the home (i.e. wheelchair ramps, stair rails) and grab bars in bathrooms.
- Installing smoke alarms
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants earning between 80% and 125% of Area Median Income must own and reside in home as primary residence.
- Home must be at least 40 year old and within the city limits of Rocky Mount.
- Provide written evidence of insurance coverage for liability, casualty, and flood damage (if located in flood zone).
- Be current on city and county taxes; current on payment of utility bills from the City; and have no liens against the property for weed abatement or improvements.
