Washington Clean Energy Testbeds has launched the Cleantech Hardware Innovation Prototyping (CHIP) program to increase access to advanced capabilities for scaled prototyping, testing, and demonstration.

Details:

The Project Overview must contain the following information:

  • Background: The applicant should briefly discuss the organization’s background, including its history, successes, and current operating status.
  • Project Goals: The applicant should explicitly identify the targeted improvements and critical success factors in achieving these goals

The Project Proposal should contain the following information:

  • A technical discussion of the applicant’s planned activities at the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds.
  • Technical feasibility.
  • Technological compatibility with available prototyping resources. Testbeds staff can help verify compatibility

Funding Information

An application period will occur twice annually, with the intent of providing 3-6 applicants each year with $10k-$30k worth of access to the Testbeds equipment over a 6-month period.

Eligibility Criteria

Entrepreneurs and startup companies in need of access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to develop, advance, prototype, and/or manufacture their innovative clean energy technologies are eligible to apply. Applicant companies should be pre-B-round, or similar metric, in maturity.
