The Youth Arts Scholarship is designed to identify and reward high school seniors within Pima County who demonstrate excellence in dance, music, theater, visual arts, media arts, literary arts, poetry, spoken word, craft, or art related to cultural preservation.
Funding Information
Up to $2,500 scholarship toward eligible expenses during the enrollment at Pima Community College or Tohono O’odham Community College. Funds will be made available to the community college for students’ use at the beginning of the Fall 2023 semester.
Eligible Expenses
Tuition Costs. Payments will be made directly to the college.
Eligibility Criteria
At the time the application is submitted, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Enrolled as a senior at a high school within Pima County, and graduating with the Class of 2023
- Must be planning to attend Pima Community College or Tohono O’odham Community College in the Fall of 2023
- A resident of Pima County
- Resident status: Applicants do not need to show proof of residency to apply for this scholarship, but you will need to follow the college’s Residency Requirements in order to enroll.
Review Criteria of Artistic Excellence and Artistic Merit
- Personal Statement- the applicant addressed the prompt, providing clear examples and supporting detail.
- Work Samples- the applicant submitted appropriate and clear work samples, which support their personal statement. The work samples are engaging and show promise for growth.
- References- the applicant is supported by those in schools and by community members.
