The goal of Windowfront Exhibitions is to provide professional opportunities for artists and creatives to present their work, support and increase the presence of art in downtown public spaces, celebrate diversity, engage community, provide a platform for historically under-served communities and encourage positive interactive activities downtown.
Relevant themes may include, but are not limited to: lumination, black history, Asian and Pacific Islander heritage, women’s history, sustainability and LGBTQIA+, as well as any work that expresses the timeline we live in, inspires wonder and invokes dialogue.
Funding Information
- $700/$475
- Given the number of available windows, 4-9 artists will be selected for this call.
- The stipend per selected artist is $700 for art installation or $475 for video. It is not required that awarded installations only use funding from this opportunity; selected artists may utilize existing artwork or outside funds as available.
Eligibility Criteria
- This opportunity is available for any Oregon artists and artist teams over 18 years of age who are interested in creating an installation that will be displayed for up to three months. Youth artists will be considered with a lead that is 18 years of age or older.
- In support of this project’s commitment to achieving greater racial equity across the arts sector, submissions from artists of color are particularly encouraged.
- They are interested in all variety of 2D/3D artworks, graphics, mixed media, video and digital concepts. Mediums could range from sculpture, lighting design, video projections, hung painting/graphics, stained glass and anything else that might enliven downtown and intrigue passers-by. Artwork that is 3-dimensional, contains audio visual elements, and/or can be viewed after sunset is preferred.
