Professional or amateur artists working in two or three dimensional media are invited to apply to the schedule of gallery exhibitions at the Shelton Arts Commission Civic Center Rotating Art Gallery.

Details:
The gallery is located in the Shelton Civic Center on the first floor. Exhibits are scheduled for 12-week periods. More than one artist’s works may be exhibited at one time.
Precautions will be taken to protect the artwork from damage or theft. However, the exhibit space is not secured, and the City will provide no insurance for artwork submitted for exhibition. Artists are advised to carry their own insurance. Gallery hours are 8:00 AM -5:00 PM Monday through Friday. The gallery is closed on government holidays.
About the Space
The gallery is located on the first floor of the Shelton Civic Center, 525 W Cota Street, in downtown Shelton. Gallery wall footage comprises the corridor wall on the East side of the room approximately 40’ x 4’ (attachments for hanging are already secured in walls).
Budget
The artist will not be compensated in consideration of placement of their works.
Project Period
Exhibits are scheduled in advance. The project dates are December 1, 2022– February 28, 2023.
Entry Procedure
All work must be original and created solely by the artist. Jury has the right to select quality work that they deem competent and in compliance with the theme chosen for the gallery, which presents an interesting variety of subjects and media, and is acceptable for viewing by the citizens of all ages.
Eligibility Criteria
- Professional or amateur artists living Washington State working in 2 or 3 dimensional media (video is not accepted).
- All two dimensional work must be mounted or framed and ready to hang. Wire must be mounted 1/3 of distance from top of frame. No sawtooth or cloth hangers.
- All three dimensional art must fit within the supplied display case measuring: 45”W x 62”H x 16”D
- All work must be a minimum of 11 inches and framed.
