The Washington State Department of Commerce, working in partnership with the Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA) is accepting applications for Working Washington Grants: Round 5 Grant Program to provide funding to for-profit and non-profit small businesses that have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program’s focus is to offer targeted relief in the form of one-time grants to for-profit and non-profit small businesses that can demonstrate financial hardship due to the pandemic and experienced a reduction in business income or activity due to Covid-19 and related public health measures.
In this round of grants, portions of the available funds are set aside for specific sectors:
- 60%of the funding is identified for the arts, heritage, and science sectors, including those that operate live entertainment venues
- 40% of the fundingis identified for most other sectors, including hospitality, fitness and personal services
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an active business or nonprofit
- Non-profit organizations are eligible to receive funding if they have a primary business activity that is similar to the eligible businesses who qualify for this program
- Have not reported annual gross receipts of more than $5,000,000 in calendar year 2019
- Have expenses that are necessary to continue business operations and the expense is not a federal, state, or local tax, fee, license, or other government revenue
- Must self-attest that expenses are not funded by any other government or private entity
- Has not violated any public health guidance or directives
- If using the funds to reopen, must demonstrate the business was actively engaged in business, and as a result of the governor’s proclamations 20-25.8 through 20-25.12, temporarily totally closed operations
- Eligible businesses may receive up to a $75,000 grant, Commerce is permitted to reduce prior Working Washington grants and/or prioritize those who have not yet received a grant
