The LEE Initiative is honored to once again work with the Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice, a coalition of bakers, Chefs, makers and restaurant owners joined together to do the work to benefit Black communities, to provide grants to Black-owned businesses across the country.
In addition to the monetary awards, this year’s grants for new Black-owned food businesses will include a continuing education component for grantees with seminars featuring food-industry veterans. The seminars will include timely and relevant topics such as commercial leases, small business accounting, and employee training and retention.
Their collective intent is to ensure financial support and other resources to sustain long-term business health and success. Because this is about more than saving restaurants; it’s about preserving Black culinary culture today and into the future.
Eligibility Criteria
- Black-owned businesses that are getting started or have been in business for under 2 years.
- Black-owned businesses that have been in operation for more than two years.
