The goal of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to is to minimize stormwater pollution via maintenance of green infrastructure (GI). In order to achieve this, the grantee will annually maintain approximately 400 GI practices installed by District government agencies and provide training to a local workforce.
The purposes of this grant are to (1) primarily, provide excellent routine maintenance for 400 GI installed by District agencies and (2) secondarily, create GI maintenance sustainable employment opportunities for local District residents, including Returning Citizens, and foster stewardship and maintenance support opportunities for communities.
Funding Information
The amount available for the project is approximately $800,000 per year.
Eligible Expenses
The Applicant must show that all costs in the budget are allowable. Typical allowable costs are:
- Rental of office space, some vehicles, and some equipment;
- Employee salaries and benefits;
- Contractor labor, including professional services;
- Accounting and bookkeeping services;
- Communications, including telephone and data services;
- Printing, reproduction, including signage;
- Materials and supplies;
- Computers and printers;
- Small tools;
- Some field equipment, typically below $5,000 in value;
- Postage and shipping;
- Necessary travel, meals and lodging; and
- Insurance.
